Club Activities
- Cuisine
- Cuisine includes cooking demonstrations, nationality luncheons and food related excursions. The demos, offered at the Club, provide an opportunity to learn new techniques, view preparations, receive recipes and shopping tips. Nationality luncheons, held in members’ homes, highlight the cuisine and culture of a particular country. Cuisine related excursions include visits to restaurant schools and kitchens, ethnic groceries and restaurants.
- Craft
- Once a month, a Craft class such as knitting and Scrapbooking is offered, which will often reflect the current month or holiday season.
- Language Classes
- Taught at the Club, classes are small, personal and provide a conducive environment for learning a language. Various levels of English, French, Spanish, German, Italian and Japanese are currently offered.
- Healthy Lifestyles
- Pilates, T’ai Chi and stretching classes are offered at the Club, whilst golf lessons are arranged for members at local facilities. Hiking is also organized regularly.
- Moms & Tots
- Nothing is quite as tough as arriving in a new country with a young family and not knowing a soul! The Moms & Tots group serves as a huge welcome mat to all IWC newcomers with pre-school children. Baby sitting i s available on Club mornings for a flat rate charge per child to allow Moms to participate in some of the many activities.
- Special Events
- These are essentially an opportunity to get together with husbands and are themed depending upon the time of year.
- Tours
- Museum tours, art exhibits and day trips to local places of interest are offered each month either by bus or carpooling. The annual December trip to New York City by bus is always very popular. Guests are welcome on all tours, but unfortunately no children are allowed.
- Gardening
- A way for members to share plants, seeds, cuttings, bulbs. Also a place to discuss gardening information, ask for advice and participate in garden tours.
